This new trend is redefining leadership...

Even the most senior leaders are going back to training.

Surprised?

At McKinsey & Company, leadership development for top executives has doubled-and now includes coaching from Navy SEALs, sports coaches, and practices like breathing and mental centering. (Business Insider)

Why? Because the role of a leader has fundamentally changed.

A decade ago, leaders focused on a handful of priorities.

Now they’re juggling constant change, AI, stakeholder pressure, and uncertainty-often all at once. (Business Insider)

So the shift isn’t just about learning new skills.

It’s about something deeper:

Leading self.

Staying grounded under pressure.

Making clear decisions in complexity.

Creating space to think when everything is accelerating.

Here’s what I think this really means:

Leadership is no longer a role you arrive at.

It’s a practice you return to-daily.

And the leaders who will thrive aren’t the ones with the most experience…

They’re the ones like my clients who are continually training their inner game.

Because in a world of increasing complexity, clarity doesn’t come from doing more.

It comes from being able to pause, centre, and choose well. If this is you, you're my kind of leader and I'd love to talk to you about our new steward eldership certification, drop me a kooee.
